HALF DAY CLASSIC ROME TOUR
An itinerary by coach and on foot to visit the classic monuments of Rome. Crossing Piazza della Repubblica with the Fountain of the Nayads, our local guide will take you on a pleasant stroll through the historical centre, where you can admire the Trevi Fountain, La Colonna di Marco Aurelio, Palazzo di Montecitorio, designed by Bernini, the Pantheon (visit inside)*, Palazzo Madama seat of the Senate, and Piazza Navona. Passing alongside Castel S. Angelo the bus will take you to the magnificent Basilica of St. Peter, which you can visit inside (except when there are religious celebrations) with earphones provided by our guide. You will have the chance to admire masterpieces such as Michelangelo's la Pietà and Bernini's bronze canopy.

HALF DAY IMPERIAL ROME TOUR
Arriving by coach at Piazza Venezia with its impressive monument dedicated to King Victor Emanuel II and the unknown soldier you then continue by foot to the famous Piazza del Campidoglio designed by Michelangelo from where you will have a fantastic view of the Roman Forum. Our coach will then continue to the Circus Maximus, the Aventino Hill and the Basilica of St Peter in Chains, with the beautiful statue of Moses by Michelangelo. The tour will end with a stop and visit of the imposing Colosseum (closed on Jan 1st, Good Friday, May 1st, Dec 25th).
The return to the Hotel is not guaranteed. The coach will stop at Piazza Venezia, Piazza Cavour, Piazza Barberini, Piazza della Repubblica, Termini railway station.

HALF DAY VATICAN MUSEUMS TOUR
The tour starts by coach passing through Piazza della Repubblica with the Fountain of the Nayads and following the ancient Aurelian walls which once surrounded the ancient city. On route you will see the famous Borghese park and the northern gate of the ancient city leading into Piazza del Popolo where you will see an Egyptian obelisk dating back to the time of Ramses II. Upon arrival at the Vatican Walls your guide will then lead you into the Vatican Museums (reservation and entrance fees included) taking the beautiful Spiral staircase and continuing through the Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Geographical Maps, before arriving in the famous Sistine Chapel with its magnificent fresco of the Last Judgement by Michelangelo.
At the end of the tour, free time to visit St Peter’s Basilica on your own.

HALF DAY CHRISTIAN ROME TOUR
The first stop will be on the Esquiline Hill where our guide will show you the treasures of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, then continuing by coach to stop at the Holy Staircase, the Lateran Palace and the Basilica of St. John, Rome Cathedral (inside visit). Then proceeding along the Ancient Appian Way, you will pass by the Chapel of "Domine Quo Vadis" before arriving at the Catacombs, the ancient underground cemeteries and first hiding places for the Christians. A visit will be made to either the Catacombs of S. Callisto, Santa Domitilla or San Sebastiano, depending upon seasonal conditions. The tour will end with a spectacular view of the Baths of Emperor Caracalla.

HALF DAY ROMAN CASTLES TOUR
An opportunity to leave the metropolis and immerge yourself in the natural and artistic beauty of the small medieval villages outside Rome.
Leaving Rome we drive by the ruins of the Baths of Caracalla and onto the Ancient Appian Way by the Chapel of “Domine Quo Vadis”. This tour takes you along the ‘Road of the Lakes’ through one of the hilly areas of volcanic origin that characterize the outskirts of Rome; the Colli Albani with its many growing villages. Castelgandolfo on the shores of a vulcanic lake, where the Pope has his summer residence, Rocca di Papa and Grottaferrata, known for their culture sights and gastronomic delicacies which include the traditional “porchetta”. Towards the northerly part of the Colli Albani, we reach Frascati popular with visitors both for its beauty and considerable wine production. Here we stop for a taste of local wine accompanied by typical local produce and to absorb the flavour of village life. Return to Rome.

HALF DAY TIVOLI TOUR
Following the ancient Via Tiburtina 30 Kms. east of Rome, this tour allows you to visit and compare two very splendid villas from two different ages. The Villa Adriana dating back to Roman Times and the Villa D'Este from the Renaissance period.At the foot of the Tiburtini hills which dominate the vast quarries of travertine marble there are the source of the springs that supply the spa town of Bagni di Tivoli. You will stop first to visit the ruins of Villa Adriana which can only hint at the grandeur and beauty of this Villa built by Emperor Hadrian to remind him of the monuments and sites he had admired during his travels in the East. We then continue to the Villa D'Este, one of the most beautiful residences of the Renaissance. The Villa's countless fountains, set in the heart of magnificent Italian style gardens, create a delightfully graceful symphony of carved stone, shade, sunlight and water. HALF DAY ANCIENT OSTIA TOUR
Leaving Rome and following the coast road, it takes about 30minutes to reach Ostia, the Rome city of the Imperial age whose latin name "Ostium" means "mouth of the river", reflecting its position along the Tiber river.
Your visit to Ostia Antica itself starts at "Via delle Tombe" which leads to the "Porta Romana",one of the city's three gates. Then you will arrive at the "terme di Nettuno" where you can admire the beautiful black and white
mosaics representing Neptune and Amphitrite,the theatre built by Agrippa and the Forum which formed the centre of the city. Here you will discover the principle public buildings, "Il Capitolium" and the temple of Rome and Augustus, the Basilica and the large thermal baths. Near the forum square you will also find the House of Diana and the "Thermopolium", an ancient Roman bar with a marble counter and a fresco depicting the fruit and foodstuff that were sold there. At the end of Via dei Dipinti, the Museo Ostiense displays some of the ancient sculptures and mosaics found among the ruins.
After this fascinating stroll through the past you will return to Rome. The return to the Hotel is not guaranteed. ROME BY NIGHT TOUR
Discover some of the main monuments of the Eternal City in the romantic atmosphere of times past. Some of the sights you pass by include The Fountain of the Nayads, the Exhibition Palace, Piazza Venezia with its Tomb to the Unknown Soldier and the Capitoline Hill. Glimpse the Imperial Roman Age as you drive by and admire the Roman Forum, the Colosseum the Arch of Constantine and the Circus Maximus. Leap into the Papal Era when, driving along the banks of the Tiber you see the Jewish Quarter complete with synagogue and the imposing Castel Sant’Angelo close by that heralds your approach to St. Peter’s. Set in the ancient Aurelian Walls that frame part of the Villa Borghese park you’ll see a couple of the most beautiful gateways in Rome: Porta Flaminia through which you can admire the Piazza del Popolo and Porta Pinciana through which you reach the famous Via Veneto symbol of “la dolce vita” in Rome. There will be two stops on this tour: at Piazza Navona to see Bernini’s beautiful Fountain of the Four Rivers and at the Trevi Fountain so that you can keep up the tradition of throwing coins into the fountain. FULL DAY ASSISI TOUR
The real Italy, far away from the modern highways and large cities, where small ancient villages are waiting to be discovered in the heart of the Umbrian countryside. Assisi is an oasis of art and architecture and home of Saint Francis, one of Italy’s most loved saints.
Leaving Rome in a northerly direction, we drive along the Tiber Valley and the green Tuscan hills covered in olive groves and vineyards. This is the land of some of Italy’s best known D.O.C. (quality controlled) wines, which include Orvieto, Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino and a stop is included so that you can taste both some local wine and other typical Umbrian and Tuscan produce. Lunch too will be of traditional local dishes. In the early afternoon, having driven along the shores of Lake Trasimeno, we reach Assisi, built at the foot of Mount Subiaso. Here, during a guided stroll through the lanes of this historic town, you will see the Church of St. Claire, St Francis’ birthplace, his childhood home, Townhall Square with its People’s Palace, Roman Temple dedicated to Minerva and of course the Townhall itself. Visit St Francis’ Basilica, close to the ancient city walls, with its magnificent frescoes painted between the 12th and 14th centuries. Leaving Assisi, we stop at the town of Santa Maria degli Angeli named after its church inside which, in the Chapel of Porziuncola, St. Francis died in 1226. Reaching Rome around 7.30 / 8.00 p.m., you will be left in the vicinity of your hotel.

FULL DAY TOUR TO THE ISLE OF CAPRI
Capri, situated in the Gulf of Naples, surrounded by an emerald and turquoise sea, is ofet called the pearl of the Mediterranean. This Island of Dreams has enchanted many people with the incomparable beauty of its rugged landscape, the mildness of its climate, the richness of its vegetation and its characteristic small white houses.
Leaving Rome by escorted coach we take the "Highway of the Sun", crossing the fertile Latium countryside and driving by the Roman Castles (vineyards), the Ciociaria (grain and vegetable cultivation). Approximately halfway to Naples, a splendid view of the Abbey of Montecassino famous for its complete destruction during World War II, and the exact reconstruction since then . Arriving in Naples we will board the jetfoil for the 45 minute crossing to Marina Grande, the port of Capri. We will then board the motorboats to the Blue Grotto for an optional visit, if weather and sea conditions permit. Minibuses are then used for a panoramic drive to reach Anacapri, the highest villagge of the island from where we will enjoy a wonderful view of the Bay of Naples. After lunch in a local reastaurant, you will have some free time to take photos and purchase local products, before returning to Marina Grande to board the jetfoil back to Naples. Entering the port we can admire the splendid scenery of the Maschio Angioino, a fortress dating back to the 12th century, the Certosa di San Martino and the Roayl Palace. Disembark at Molo Beverello and departure Rome, approx. 3 hours travel time. Return to or nearby your Hotel.

Leaving Rome by escorted coach we take the "Highway of the Sun", crossing the fertile Latium countryside and driving by the Roman Castles (vineyards), the Ciociaria (grain and vegetable cultivation). Approx. halfway to Naples, a splendid view of the Abbey of Montecassino, famous for its complete destruction during World War II. Arriving in Naples, descending towards the port of Mergellina, we arrive in the ancient fishing quarter of Santa Lucia and we will admire the impressive Castel dell'Ovo, an ancient fortress which seems to float on the water. The city tour continues crossing the historital centre with Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, the Basilica of San francesco di Paola, the San Carlo Opera House, the Gallery of Umberto I and the imposing Maschio Angioino, a fortress dating back to the XIII century. Upon leaving Naples, We arrive in Pompeii, where we stop first for lunch. After lunch we will visit the excavations on foot, with a local guide who will take us through a journey thorugh the ancient Greek-Roman City which was completely buried under ash during the terrible eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. This ancient city was almost completely brought to light by the excavations started in 1748 and still in progress today. At the end of the visit, departure for Rome driving along the "Highway of the Sun" and arrival after approx.3 hours. Return to or nearby your Hotel. FULL DAY FLAVOURS OF ITALY TOUR
Depart Rome, heading north across the Tiber valley, you reach CORTONA. This
town has changed little since the Middle Ages! More recently depicted
in the Oscar winning film “La Vita è Bella” and life here
described by American novelist Frances Mayes in “Under the Tuscan Sun”,
Cortona is enjoying renewed popularity. Here, stroll through the historic
centre, discovering it’s hidden corners and absorb the atmosphere of
this picturesque town. Afterwards, a drive along the shores of LAKE TRASIMENO
takes you to taste, or even buy, some of the many local products (olive oil,
cheeses, salami and ham). Lunch is then served in a typical country style
restaurant. In the afternoon, drive through the gentle hills of the CHIANTI
REGION to reach the hilltop town of MONTEPULCIANO. The deep ruby red
wine, “Vino Nobile” from this town, is famous the world over. Here
you can visit one of its oldest wine cellars, carved out of the tufa rock,
and discover some of the secrets of the winemakers, and of course taste the
final result! Return to Rome at approximately 20h00 to20h30.
