Puglia :
Puglia is a long and narrow region of southern Italy bordering the Adriatic Sea, eventually forming the heel of Italy's "boot" in what is called the Salento peninsula. Puglia produces a great amount of wine and olive oil, and is rapidly becoming a prized tourist destination.
Alberobello in the dry almost arid landscape called the Murge dei Trulli, is the trulli capital and inevitably, a tourist haunt. Here the strange white buildings crowd the narrow streets and there are trulli restaurants and shops, and even a trulli cathedral. Lecce is a town tucked away on the Salentine Peninsula and was once the site of a Greek settlement. Much of the architecture is in the Lecce Baroque style.
