Lake Como: Inspiration for romantics

Set in an idyllic landscape of mountains and rugged hillsides, and shrouded in an almost eerie calm, Lake Como has for centuries been the playground of the rich and has attracted visitors who come for relaxation, inspiration, walks in the hills or to go boating. The long and narrow lake, crafted into a wishbone shape by glacial erosion, offers fine views up to the Alps and down to the prosperous towns of Como and Lecco. Places of interest include the beautiful 14th Century Duomo and beside it, the 13th Century Town Hall in the town of Como, and the Villa Carlotta near Tremezzo - an elegant 18th Century Summer House known for its gardens.The delightful resort of Bellagio, on the cusp of the lake's two arms, has elegant lake-side promenades and cafés, brightly coloured with geraniums.

Lake Como & Venice Package

Day 01 Arrive at Venice rail Station or Airport, private transfer to your Hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 02 Breakfast. Morning at leisure to explore St. Mark's Square and The Doge's Palace. Enjoy an afternoon gondola ride. Dine in a restaurant in Venice centre.

Day 03 Breakfast. Transfer to car terminal to pick up self drive car. Drive to Verona - visit Romeo and Juliet's town. Walk to Juliet's House and to the famous Arena where opera performances take place every July and August. Continue westwards, to Como.

Accommodation at the reserved Hotel.

Day 04 Breakfast. Day to relax around the lake, or take a leisurely drive along the shore to visit some of the luscious Villas such as Villa Carlotta near Tremezzo or Villa Melzi in Bellagio. Leave your car in Cadenabbia and take a ferry to Bellagio. Dinner at the Hotel.

Day 05 Breakfast. Drive into Switzerland. Lugano is within a short drive from anywhere on Lake Como. For golf lovers, this area offers some of the best courses in Italy.

Day 06 Breakfast. Drive to Milan Airport, drop your car off in time for your onwards flight, or drive to your next destination.
