Sightseeing Tour N° 1: Full day Cote d’Azur

Full Day Tour:                   Departure from the hotel at 09h00, return to the hotel at 18h00

TOUR DESCRIPTION:
Nice – Cannes by highway.  Arrival in Cannes and enjoy a panoramic city tour : le Boulevard de la Croisette , le Palais des Festivals, le Marché Forville , the old town and its pedestrian area, Suquet area with 16th century church and the Castre museum from the 11th century.  Stop and free time.  Continue to Antibes by the sea side , passing throughout

Golf Juan: Famous for its beach which welcomed Napoleon 1st when he was coming back from the island of Ste Helene.
Juan les Pins: The casino, fashion shops and Jazz festival each spring time.
Cap d’Antibes: One of the most luxurious areas of the Côte d’Azur where one can visit the hotel Eden Roc, the most expensive hotel in all France, where film stars reside during the film festival.
Antibes: Founded by the Greeks at the 4th century BC, fortified by Vauban in the 17th century.   Its walls and square fort are of great interest.   The best yachting port on the French Riviera, with its “ Mole”” where the most beautiful yachts of Europe are anchored.  Stop and free time.
Cagnes: Medieval city, from the 14th century where one can see the hippodrome and the Renoir museum.

 

Arrival in Nice by the sea side and lunch stop in the old town.
In the afternoon, depart for Monaco by the lower level road , passing throughout :

Villefranche/Cap Ferrat: An exquisite bay, considered the first port of Nice. Citadelle from the 16th century.  The Rothschild museum. Photo stop.
Beaulieu:   Meaning “beautiful place”, was named by Napoelon 1st during his stay.  Boasts a casino and many gastronomic restaurants.
Eze “sea side”: Breathtaking view of the old Eze medieval village.
Cap d’Ail: Luxurious villas and sea side resort.

 

Arrive in the principality of Monaco City for a panoramic view of the Prince’s Palace , the Cathedral where the grave of Princess Grace Kelly is situated , the  Oceanographic Museum, the typical very narrow streets.  Stop for some free time.

Continue to Monte Carlo City via the formula one “circuit”.  Free time at the main square to visit the casino, the Hotel de Paris, the gardens , the opera.  Entrance into the casino is possible at the cost of EUR 10 per person;  a passport is required and under 18 year-olds are forbidden.

Way back to Nice on the medium level road.  Stop for a visit at the Fragonard Perfume Factory.  Stop with free time in Eze medieval village to discover the 10th century old city.

 

Sightseeing Tour N° 2: Provence – Full day
Full Day Tour:                   Departure from the hotel at 09h00, return to the hotel at 18h00.

TOUR DESCRIPTION:
Nice – Biot - Grasse - Gourdon – Les Gorges du Loup – Tourettes – Vence – Saint Paul de Vence by the scenic route.

Biot: City from the 13th century, heart of handicraft production such as pottery and hand-blown glassware.  Stopover with free time for seeing a glass-blowing workshop and the Fernand Leger museum.
Grasse: Originating in the medieval period, but only well known since the 17th century after the start of its perfume industry.  Stopover with free time for a visit to the old town including the church, which boasts  original paintings from Rubens.  Visit to the Frangonard Perfume Museum before pausing for lunch.
Gourdon: Old Saracen headquarters.  Stopover with free time and a visit to a small castle from the 11th century with very pretty gardens designed by Le Notre (designer of the Versailles palace gardens).
Les Gorges du Loup: A 15 km journey through the green valley of the Loup river.
Tourettes sur Loup: A typical old and pretty village, specializing in handmade roof tiles and “violette” candies.
Vence:       Religious headquarters founded in the 5th century.  Features many religious buildings, the highlight being the old Chapel du Rosarie, with beautiful stained glass windows by Matisse in 1950.
Saint Paul de Vence:  Royal village fortified by Vauban in the 17th century. An important meeting point of international artists, particularly painters, at the beginning of the 20th century.  Stopover with free time for a visit.

End of the tour - return to Nice.

 

 

Sightseeing Tour N° 4: Italian Riviera and its markets – Full day
Full Day Tour:                   Departure from the hotel at 08h30, return to   hotel at 17h30

TOUR DESCRIPTION:
Nice – Italy by the highway.
Arrive in San Remo, a smart Italian seaside resort from the 19th century,  frequented by European aristocracy. Many famous people such as Alfred Nobel and Tchaikovsky stayed in hotels here.  Chance to visit the citadelle, the Russian church, the harbour and the seaside. Free time for shopping at the open air market and lunch.

Return to France by the seaside road and discover the “Riviera di Ponente” (passing through Bordighera and Ventimiglia).
Arrive at Menton: Medieval town from the 14th century, featuring the chapel of penitents and its inlaid-work furniture, and the Jean Cocteau museum.
Stopover with free time for touring.
Continue to Nice by the seaside road: passing by Monaco, Eze, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, and Villefranche.

PLEASE NOTE:     The Tour stops in Bordighera, Ventimiglia or San Remo only on their  market days. However, in any case the tour will continue to San Remo for the city visit and lunch.

 

 

Sightseeing Tour N°5: Saint Tropez and its stars – full day
Full Day Tour:                   Departure from the hotel at 08h30, return to the hotel at 18h00

TOUR DESCRIPTION:
Nice – Cannes by highway.
Arrive in Mandelieu and continue to Port Grimaud by the seaside road.
La Corniche d’Or (golden coast road): seaside road stretching between Cannes and Saint Raphael – Sainte Maxime, where the massif of Esterel has twisted and torn forms with a beautiful fire red color.
Arrive in Port Grimaud: Created in 1966 it is called “the Venice of Provence” because of its very special kind of architecture where streets are canals and boats anchor near the houses.
Saint Tropez: First a Greek, then a Roman village -- its name comes from the legend of Torpes, a centurion of the Roman army who was decapitated by order of Nero because of his religion.  His body was placed in a small boat which drifted out to sea and landed on the beach here.  He became a famous martyr and the catholic community decided to build a city in his name in this place.  Stopover with free time for sightseeing.

In the afternoon, cruise on the gulf of Saint Tropez to discover the luxury villas of stars like Sylvester Stallone, Jack Nickolson, the Von Opel family and the well-known “la Madrague”, whose famous owner is Brigitte Bardot.  (In case of bad weather the cruise will be changed for an Annonciade museum entrance ticket.)

Return to Nice passing through the Maures Mount, then the highway.

 

Sightseeing Tour N°6: Nice panoramic city tour – Half day
Half-Day Tour:                  Departure from the hotel at 09h00, return to   hotel at 12h00

TOUR DESCRIPTION:
Includes: La promenade des Anglais, the Russian church (stopover and visit inside if desired , 3€ x pax), Cimiez hill, Matisse museum, monastery and the arena.  The Art promenade, Louis Nucera library, and the Modern Art Museum (no entrance included).  The old town and its churches (stopover and free time).  Florian candy factory visit and finally a panoramic view of Boron mount for a photo stop.

Half-Day Morning Tour:         Departure from the hotel at 09h00, return to  hotel at 13h00

Sightseeing Tour N° 10: Saint Paul and Les Gorges du Loup – Half day
TOUR DESCRIPTION:
Depart from Nice for Vence.   Walking tour on your own in the fortified city with its beautiful cathedral: one of the oldest and the smallest cathedrals of France, famous for its interior decoration by Marc Chagall.  Then drive to the “Chapelle du Rosaire”, created and decorated by Matisse.  Free visit.  Depart for St Paul de Vence for time at leisure in the picturesque village with its narrow streets and  numerous art galleries.  Possibility of visiting the cemetery where Chagall has been buried.
End of the tour, return to Nice.

Night tour:                      Departure from hotel at 20h00, return to hotel at 24h00.

 

TOUR DESCRIPTION:
Nice – Monaco by the lower coast seaside road.  Back by the middle coast road.
Photo stop at the panoramic view point of Villefranche, followed by a panoramic tour of Monaco with short stopover.
Continue to Monte Carlo, stop at casino square for free time. (Can also visit the old casino, entrance fees of EUR 10 per person - passport is necessary, under 18 year-olds are forbidden).
